Jobot is seeking a Locum General Surgeon to support our hospital and clinic clients within the Professional, Scientific & Technical Services sector. In this role, you will provide operative and non-operative care for a broad range of general surgery cases, including elective and emergent procedures. Responsibilities include pre- and post-operative management, call coverage, consultations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll work in varied hospital environments, backed by Jobot’s tech-forward, people-centric team and tools that streamline credentialing, scheduling, and matching you with quality assignments. Provide inpatient and outpatient general surgical care for Jobot client hospitals and facilities Perform elective and emergency general surgery procedures using open and laparoscopic techniques Deliver pre-operative evaluation, informed consent, and post-operative management Participate in on-call coverage, consults, and emergent surgical interventions Collaborate with hospitalists, anesthesiologists, specialists, and nursing teams for coordinated care Document all care accurately and timely within facility EMR systems Adhere to hospital bylaws, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements Travel to various client sites as needed and adapt to different hospital environments General surgery (open and laparoscopic) Emergency and trauma surgery Pre- and post-operative patient management Inpatient and outpatient care Clinical documentation and charting (EMR) Diagnostic evaluation and surgical planning Sterile technique and OR protocols Multidisciplinary care coordination On-call coverage and case triage Compliance with hospital and regulatory standards MD or DO from accredited institution Completion of ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS/AOBOS) Active, unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain) Current ACLS and BLS certification DEA registration
