Job Title: Entry-Level Electrical Engineer
Location: Waggaman, LA
Duration: 1-Year Contract (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week + Overtime as Needed
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting electrical engineering projects in an industrial, manufacturing, energy, or engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the design, development, and analysis of electrical systems and equipment.
Support engineering teams with drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software to review and update engineering drawings.
Perform electrical load calculations and assist with power distribution studies.
Review project documents to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
Support field activities, inspections, testing, and commissioning efforts as needed.
Coordinate with project managers, designers, construction personnel, and other engineering disciplines.
Assist with troubleshooting electrical system issues and identifying corrective actions.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
Maintain project files and engineering records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Recent graduate or up to 2 years of electrical engineering experience.
Basic understanding of power systems, electrical distribution, controls, or instrumentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, or similar engineering software is preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team-based environment and manage multiple priorities.
EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Internship, co-op, or engineering project experience.
Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, utility, petrochemical, or EPC environments.
Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
Interest in power systems, substations, instrumentation, controls, or electrical design.
