Position Summary
Healthrise is seeking a hands-on Revenue Cycle Consultant who will work closely with healthcare operational leaders and technical experts to identify, manage, and drive forward projects and initiatives.
This position partners closely with revenue cycle leadership to strengthen operational performance, support the deployment of new initiatives, and contribute to the development of scalable frameworks for continued service delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include
Preparing and owning project documents (project initiation, kick-off, meeting minutes, next steps).
Conducting data analysis and forecasting.
Identifying opportunities to enhance revenue cycle functions and workflows such as AR follow-up, denials management, underpayments, and patient access operations.
Core competencies include critical thinking, attention to detail, time management, relationship management, communication, and organizational planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Epic’s electronic health record system, and workflow design/development are strongly desired. Current needs of expertise include all areas of revenue cycle (front, middle, back). Previous consulting or client-facing experience is preferred.

Positive client feedback related to operational delivery, responsiveness, and overall satisfaction
Improved efficiency and cost management within revenue cycle workflows and associated vendor relationships
Demonstrated operational improvements resulting from process enhancements
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence: Ensure consistent, high-quality execution across revenue cycle projects, optimizing workflows, processes, and outcomes
Performance Management: Support and influence key operational decisions, fostering clear communication, accountability, and measurable improvement
Project Management: Apply project management methodologies and change management strategies to address performance gaps, technology enhancements, and regulatory changes
Client Relationship Management: Serve as a critical liaison, managing expectations, communicating effectively, and addressing concerns proactively
Daily Operations Oversight: Dive into operational details and trends, resolve issues, maintain standards, and ensure timely project delivery
Coordination with Revenue Cycle Partners: Work closely with technical, vendor, and clinical teams to ensure effective project management and execution of deliverables
Root-Cause Analysis: Aggregate and analyze data, identify root causes, and present summaries and recommendations for improvement
Consultation and Advisory Support: Provide industry expertise, best practices, and KPI insights
Tool/Dashboard Optimization: Maintain and enhance tools and dashboards to support functional and metric improvement initiatives
Requirements
Required
3+ years of experience in revenue cycle operations and improvement strategies
Knowledge of insurance practices, healthcare industry issues and trends, and revenue cycle functions
Strong project leadership, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Advanced analytical, presentation, and critical thinking skills
Proven customer-oriented service with strong consultative and relationship-building skills
Ability to galvanize others, gather support, and thoughtfully manage complex relationships to influence outcomes within the organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience developing and applying structured workplans to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, while maintaining a strong sense of urgency across projects.
Skilled at providing direction to project teams, driving the creation of critical deliverables, identifying and escalating potential risks, and effectively influencing stakeholders, including senior leaders both internally and externally.
Preferred
Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant or healthcare-regulated environment
Familiarity with project management concepts and methodologies
Advanced degree (e.g., Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Health)
Previous consulting or client-facing experience
Familiarity with healthcare data formats and domains (HL7, X12 files such as 835/837)
Supervisory or leadership experience
