About the role
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues involving electric motors and related equipment
- Test motors, wiring, circuits, controls, switches, and electrical components
- Install and repair motor starters, contactors, relays, disconnects, control panels, and related components
- Work with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other testing devices
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Perform conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and electrical connections as needed
- Assist with the removal, installation, and startup of industrial motors and equipment
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective electrical components and determine the proper repair
- Document completed work, materials used, and equipment findings
- Follow electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and all company safety requirements
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric motors and motor-control systems
- Strong knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience with motor starters, control panels, relays, contactors, and disconnects
- Proficiency with electrical meters and diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments accurately
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Journeyman license or relevant electrical certifications are a plus
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions
- Ability to lift and move equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and electrical testing equipment
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
