About the role

Volunteer as an Assistant Python Programming Mentor, you'll support learners in developing their coding skills by helping them understand Python concepts, troubleshoot code, and stay engaged during classes. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and making programming more accessible to beginners. The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers is a non-profit programming school for 4th through 12th grade students with a mission to give every student in San DIego county an opportunity for a technical career. We run regular, free 1 hour Tech Club programming introductions at libraries and schools all over San Diego to show kids how much fun programming can be. Getting started is really easy: let us know you are interested here on Volunteer Match and wait for our email!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
