Role Description: The Data Engineer (Full-time) role at Tempe Eats is an on-site position based in Phoenix, AZ. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing ETL processes, implementing data models, managing data warehouse environments, and ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance. The Data Engineer collaborates with analytics, operations, and technology teams to understand data needs, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and enable timely, accurate insights. The position involves monitoring data workflows, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements to support scalable, data-driven growth.
Qualifications: Strong Data Engineering skills, including building and maintaining data pipelines and working with large, complex datasets. Experience with Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to design efficient, scalable structures for reporting and analytics. Proficiency with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and frameworks to move and transform data across systems. Knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Scala).Understanding of data governance, data quality practices, and basic security/privacy standards. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work collaboratively on-site, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities.
