Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Dental Hygienist role based in Bowie, MD. The Dental Hygienist will provide routine preventive dental care, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and patient education on oral hygiene practices. Daily tasks include reviewing patient medical and dental histories, conducting periodontal assessments, assisting in diagnosing periodontal disease, and documenting findings in patient records. The role also involves collaborating with dentists and other team members to develop and implement treatment plans, maintaining infection control and sterilization standards, and ensuring a comfortable, respectful experience for every patient.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Dentistry and Dental Care, with a focus on preventive services Strong knowledge of Hygiene practices and patient oral health education Skilled in Dental Prophylaxis procedures and related clinical techniques Ability to assess and manage Periodontal Disease in collaboration with dentists Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist (or eligibility for licensure in Maryland)Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program and licensed to practice in MDCommitment to infection control, safety protocols, and ethical patient care Effective communication, time management, and teamwork skills Comfort using dental practice management and electronic health record systems
