About the role
The Technology Analyst 2 (Human-Centered Design) role sits within the New York State Office of Information Technology Services and focuses on designing and implementing business systems and tools that prioritize ergonomic comfort and accessibility. The position supervises a team of Technology Analyst 1's and collaborates with business managers and IT professionals to translate user requirements into technical specifications, creating intuitive interfaces and user experiences. Responsibilities include interface design, usability assessments, system oversight, and providing technical leadership to less-experienced staff.
Key qualifications:
Six (6) years of information technology experience, with at least two (2) years in human-centered design Demonstrated experience with web page design, graphical user interface, and user-centered design Technical proficiency in Human-Centered Design tools such as CSS, HMI, JavaScript, and HTML Strong analytical skills to translate business processes into technical requirements Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with both technical and non-technical staff Preferred Human-Centered Design certification from recognized institutions
