Coding Manager A growing healthcare organization is seeking a Coding Manager to lead its Coding and Health Information Management (HIM) teams. This is a non-production leadership role focused on driving team performance, productivity, and operational efficiency within Revenue Cycle.
Position Overview:
This individual will oversee day-to-day operations of Coding and HIM, ensuring strong throughput, accountability, and team engagement. The role will partner closely with supervisors and cross-functional leadership to support continued growth and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop Coding and HIM staff, including performance oversight, coaching, and corrective action
- Establish and monitor productivity standards to ensure workflow efficiency and prevent backlogs
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives
- Promote a high-performance, accountable, and engaged team culture
- Partner with leadership and technical supervisors to optimize workflows and resolve operational challenges
- Represent Coding in Revenue Cycle meetings and collaborate across departments
- Communicate with physicians and senior leadership to support operational needs
- Identify process gaps and implement scalable improvements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a healthcare environment
- Background in Revenue Cycle, Coding, HIM, or related healthcare operations required
- Demonstrated success driving team performance and managing productivity
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsCPC, RHIT, or RHIA certifications required
