About the role

Hospice Executive DirectorThe Hospice Executive Director provides general oversight of administrative and clinical services, quality metrics, and acts as a liaison to executive leadership team. The Hospice Executive Director reports to the Vice President of Operations.Role Expectations:The Hospice Executive Director evaluates the performance of the hospice and its staff through feedback from patients, customers, employees and vendors.Is responsible for the interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of new staff, which includes the evaluation of potential staff ensuring compliance with all state/local/federal regulations.Generates and supports the hospice service philosophies and standards that reflect national hospice and palliative care standards.Validates that we are staffed at an appropriate level to exceed patient care and patient expectations. Supervises the staff through coaching, counseling, and goal setting to meet staff expectations. Works with the Clinical Director to ensure the proper staffing and resources are available for ongoing patient care and assumes that role as needed to ensure staffing.Facilitates ancillary contracts with standard terms and conditions for approval by the executive team.Consult with staff, physicians, and management on problems and interpretation of organizational guidelines to ensure patient expectations are exceeded. Works with the IDT team to develop new policies and procedures that are consistent with the organizational guidelines and in the best interest of the patients and the organization. Is ultimately responsible for assuring that the policies and procedures are implemented after their development.Reviews operational results and compares them with established goals and objectives working toward continuous improvement.Requirements:Baccalaureate degree in nursing, health service administration, business administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.Registered Nurse with licensure in company locations.A minimum of three (3) years of Hospice supervisory or management experience in managing day-to-day operations of home health, hospice, or a related healthcare organization is required.Proven ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel in a multi-site home health/hospice environment.
