About the role
TCI has an immediate need for a Pharmacy Technician in Wilkes Barre, PA.This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Note: This position requires US Citizenship and work is performed on-site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fills prescriptions and prepares IVs. Works with Billing Supervisor to enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement payment. Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing according to standards and government regulations. Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include stating the medication for RPh final review and/or packaging of medication post RPh final review and coordinating accurate and timely delivery to the customer. Assists Pharmacy Management in maintaining good inventory practices which may include receiving and rotating incoming medications and supplies, posting lot numbers, expiration dates and assisting in physical inventory. Works with Technician Supervisor in maintaining a clean/safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Preferred experience in warehousing or distribution inventory management. Certified pharmacy technician licenses, if required by individual State Board of Pharmacy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills, required. Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology. Shift requirements:1st shift - M-F 9am-5pm and every other weekend OR M-F 11am-7:30pm and every other weekend.
