Role Description:
This is a part-time, on-site/tele-health Licensed Professional Counselor role based in Denville, NJ. The counselor will provide individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing sessions using appropriate therapeutic modalities. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, coordinating care with other providers when appropriate, and adhering to legal, ethical, and professional standards. The role also involves participating in case consultations, seeking supervision or peer support as needed, and engaging in continuing education to stay current with best practices. The counselor will contribute to a respectful, inclusive practice culture and support clients from varied backgrounds and identities.
Qualifications:
Active state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (or equivalent independent license) in New Jersey, in good standing.
Demonstrated skills in psychotherapy, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning using evidence-based approaches.
Ability to maintain thorough, accurate, and confidential documentation in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and gender-neutral, non-discriminatory care for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Comfort working full-time in an on-site clinical setting, with reliability in managing a consistent caseload and schedule.
Experience with or willingness to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic technology used in clinical practice.
Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous outpatient or private practice experience is preferred but not required; willingness to receive supervision and ongoing training is valued.
