Role Description:
The Multifamily Loan Originator – FHA/HUD is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN. This role is responsible for sourcing and originating multifamily FHA/HUD-insured mortgage loans, building and maintaining relationships with developers, owners, and investors, and identifying new business opportunities in the multifamily housing market. Day-to-day activities include evaluating potential deals, coordinating with underwriting and finance teams, preparing loan applications and supporting documentation, and managing the transaction process from initial screening through closing. The Loan Originator will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, stay current on FHA/HUD guidelines and market trends, and ensure all activities align with regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications:
Strong foundation in finance and real estate finance, with the ability to analyze multifamily project economics and capital structures. Experience in loan origination and mortgages, especially in multifamily or FHA/HUD-insured lending environments. Proficiency in underwriting and loans, including assessing borrower qualifications, project feasibility, and risk. Knowledge of FHA/HUD programs, guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to multifamily housing finance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to engage clients, lenders, and partners. Ability to work on-site and travel, managing multiple transactions and deadlines with strong organizational skills. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, real estate, economics, or a related field; advanced certifications or licenses in mortgage or real estate finance are beneficial. Proficiency with financial modeling tools, loan origination systems, and standard office software; prior experience in multifamily or commercial real estate is a plus.
