About the role
Location:
Cleveland, OH – Hybrid Finatal is partnering with a growing, multi-location sales and service organization to find a Division Controller. This is a hands-on finance leader who protects the integrity of the numbers and also helps the business grow more profitably. Reporting to the senior accounting executive, you will own controllership for a division and act as a trusted advisor to divisional leadership.
What you'll do:
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, keeping GAAP application and reporting accurate and on time Strengthen internal controls, GL integrity, and audit readiness Turn results into clear insights, working closely with FP&A and operations to explain variances and drive decisions Oversee payroll and labor accounting, accruals, and benefits cost reporting in coordination with HRManage working capital, including AR aging, collections, reserves, and disbursement approvals Partner with shared services, IT, and corporate teams to automate, simplify, and improve processes Develop and mentor the accounting team
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership Experience in a multi-location, high-growth environment (sales, service, or manufacturing a plus)Strong US GAAP, internal controls, and audit exposureERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics or similar)A collaborative style, with the ability to influence both finance and non-finance leadersA bias for execution and continuous improvement Why this role It's a chance to bridge enterprise accounting and day-to-day operations, with real visibility and influence on a business built for scale.
