SALARY: 9.44 per hourHOURS:15 hours per week Monday, Thursday, Friday, 9:00 am- 2:00 pm
Note: Must be flexible to accommodate schedule changes may be asked to work other times. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Must have completed 10th grade and be at least 16 years of age.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Arranges materialsin alphabetical and numerical order on carts Shelves new itemsand returned materials and empties book drop Searches for itemson daily hold requests lists and for lost or missing library materials Performs shelfreading for accuracy, straightening and dusting shelves as needed Communicates andlistens to other staff to perform job duties and assists staff as needed Performs minimalclerical and computer tasks Responsible foremail communication and checking the Intranet regularly forannouncements Responsible forclosing tasks which include re-shelving materials left on tables or carts, straightening chairs, taking items to lost and found Provides general anddirectional assistance to patrons Assists withshifting the collection as needed Remains aware ofsafety and security issues, taking appropriate action as neededKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Combination ofeducation and experience equivalent to completion of tenth grade. Must be atleast 16 years old. General knowledge ofthe procedures, practices and equipment of a public library with basic computerskills Ability to workindependently, quickly and accurately with attention to detail Ability to understandand follow instructions verbally and written Ability to adapt to newtasks with skill and ease Ability to interactwith patrons in a positive, courteous manner and direct patrons to librarystaff Familiar with Dewey Decimal system and able to alphabetize and arrange items numerically. Observant and securityminded. Ability to exert 20lbs. of pressure to push carts loaded with books Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to shelve library materials SCPLuses multi-factor authentication for network and program access. Employees maybe required to use their personal device for MFA.
