Seasonal Snow Removal Position At 67 miles away, Winter Park is the closest ski resort to Denver. With easy access to 765,000 acres of public land, Winter Park is home to endless adventures. This part-time position requires manual labor as necessary for the purpose of snow removal during early mornings before guests arrive. Snow removal operations utilize shovels, snowblowers and roof rakes to clear pedestrian walkways, entrances and exits of buildings, stairways, decks and roofs. Must be in excellent physical condition able to withstand sub-zero temperatures and lift heavy weights. Applicant should be outgoing, a team player, hardworking and demonstrate the ability to work independently. Hourly pay range: $19.50- $21.50 per hour
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
  • Snow removal by hand or snow blower around decks, stairs, roofs and walkways.
  • Spread ice melt and sand on icy areas
  • Dig out signs, ski racks, trash cans, benches and other objects
  • Report safety hazards to appropriate individuals
  • Report on time when called in for work
  • Be able to fulfill commitment for entire winter season
  • Ability to get to Resort by 2am for shift (requires personal transportation)
  • Must be available a minimum of 3 on call shifts per week
  • Responds to emergency situations including fire, building evacuation, vehicle and pedestrian accidents, flooding, lift failure, and accident evacuation. Assists Security, municipal police and fire departments, and other protective service agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of all contract work performed.
  • Assists other work groups as necessary and performs other duties as directed.

Physical demands include:
  • Strenuous activity in the form of heavy lifting for purposes of snow removal
  • Vision occurs continuously with functional depth perception.
  • Talking & hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Capable of climbing ladders
  • Capable of lifting above head level
Education/experience/licensing: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a reliable personal transportation for early morning calls. Operate snow blower. Be in good physical condition. Able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Withstand sub-zero temperatures.
Physical requirements include:
  • Be able to lift 30-50lbs repetitively.
  • Be in good physical condition
  • Have an operational phone, if cell phone, have adequate service to receive calls
  • Keep phone within hearing distance and be capable of waking to a call in early morning
  • Adequate vision to see in darkness
  • Adequate hearing for communication purposes
Working conditions include:
  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in sub-zero temperatures and adverse conditions
  • Ability to work in low-light situations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work at significant heights
  • Indoor/Outdoor : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.
