OverviewColliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a motivated Department Manager to join our fast-growing Traffic Planning team in Phoenix, AZ! Our culture thrives on innovation, collaboration, and the drive to deliver excellence.This is your chance to join a passionate team that's shaping the communities of tomorrow.ResponsibilitiesReview and manage operations to ensure the quality of technical products.Establish effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for traffic planning team.Provide technical and management leadership to assigned team.Develop marketing programs in conjunction with discipline goals.Coordination with other disciplines within the region on business development effortsAdvise and assist professionals in other disciplines when expert knowledge and expertise is needed.Manage project activities to achieve appropriate profits.Review monthly productivity and man-hour utilization rates and reports and make adjustments as needed.Financial management and oversight of projects within the region.Work efficiently to authorize and transmit bills to clients for all reporting managers and follow up with clients for timely payments.Assign projects to staff, schedule work, and evaluate performance in accordance with our company policy.Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering required.20+ years of Transportation Planning/Traffic Engineering/Roadway Design and Land Development experience required.PE License in AZ required; PTOE/PTP preferred.Experience with ADOT/ITE/AASHTO standards/publications.Prior experience preparing Traffic Impact Studies, coordination with ADOT, and preparation of Roadway and Traffic Signal Plans is required.Ability to communicate well and exhibit polished presentation skills.Experience managing and supervising the work efforts of assigned staff regarding scope, schedule, quality and budget.Financial experience in establishing competitive fees and managing project pre-bills, change orders, and collection of invoices.Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.What We OfferAt Colliers Engineering & Design, our people are our most important resource.
