About the role
Library Services Manager The Library Services Manager provides leadership for the Western Iowa Tech Community College Library and coordinates the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of library services, resources, programs, and operations. The Manager works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and college departments to ensure library services support teaching, learning, student success, and institutional priorities. Coordinate library operations, services, resources, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective service. Supervise student library employees, including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management. Collaborate with faculty and academic programs to support courses, curricula, program review, and accreditation needs. Partner with academic and student support departments to provide workshops, outreach, and communications that support research skills, digital literacy, academic success, and student engagement. Provide leadership on emerging issues in information access and use, such as artificial intelligence, source evaluation, misinformation, copyright, licensing, and/or open educational resources. Provide research and reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff, including support with citations, research tools, and academic resources. Oversee the selection, evaluation, maintenance, and removal of print, electronic, and digital library resources. Support students with educational technology and academic software, including access, navigation, and basic troubleshooting. Collect and analyze library data to evaluate services and identify areas for improvement. Monitor library expenditures and recommend budget priorities for collections, databases, technology, equipment, and programming. This is a full-time, grade 8, administrative position with an annual salary of $68,159. Bachelor's degree in library or information science, education, humanities, communications, or a related field. Two years of relevant experience in a library, higher education, academic support, or related educational environment. Experience providing research assistance, instruction, or support with library and information resources. Demonstrated proficiency with digital resources, databases, technology, and standard office applications. Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program. Experience working in an academic or community college library. Experience providing research assistance, instruction, or support with library and information resources. Experience coordinating projects, services, programs, or daily operations. Knowledge of emerging issues in academic libraries, including artificial intelligence, open educational resources, copyright, accessibility, and digital information literacy.
