Role Description:
This part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role is a hybrid position based in Melbourne, FL, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. The role involves prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, providing follow-up medication management visits, and monitoring treatment effectiveness and side effects. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with therapists and other mental health professionals, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, and participate in care coordination as needed. Additional responsibilities may include providing psychoeducation to clients and families, supporting crisis interventions, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong skills in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing, with the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care in an outpatient setting. Candidates should possess skills as Nurse Practitioners, including advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning within their scope of practice. Candidates should possess experience in Mental Health Care, including working with diverse populations and a range of psychiatric conditions. Candidates should possess expertise in Psychiatric Care, including medication management, risk assessment, and crisis response. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida, with appropriate psychiatric/mental health certification (PMHNP or equivalent).Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team. Comfort with electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Commitment to ethical practice, cultural responsiveness, and ongoing professional development.
