About the role

Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician IWe are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to take the form of a public benefit corporation. Our public benefit purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies; and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs. United Therapeutics seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter's pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF). The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option. The Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician I is responsible for set up, operation and cleaning of all pharmaceutical packaging equipment at the RTP facility, including the filling line, blister line, packaging line, and manual kitting operations. Support all packaging and kitting operations at the site under direct supervision, including performance and documentation of start-up checks, in-process checks, equipment adjustments, yield calculations, and batch reconciliations. Ensure operations are completed in full compliance with company SOPs, MBRs, and cGMPs Ensure all packaging batch documentation, cleaning records, and labels are complete and accurate Responsible for strict compliance with all OSHA and company safety policies Perform changeovers on equipment All other duties as required
Minimum Requirements: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Basic computer skills Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree 1+ years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging or warehouse environment (will consider commensurate experience and/or combination of education and experience) Ability to navigate sophisticated HMI control systems on automated pharmaceutical packaging equipment Experience with GMP documentation requirements and experience with completing batch packaging records, reading and understanding SOPs, and working with packaging machinery
Job Location: United Therapeutics requires this candidate to be 100% on-site at our Durham, NC office.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
