Lead Principal Engineer - MK48 program
Location:
Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Onsite Full Time role Security Clearance: DoD Secret preferred; must be obtainable within a reasonable period after hire Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship Required The Lead Principal Engineer supporting the MK48 program will serve as a senior technical authority for complex electronic systems. This role provides system- and hardware-level architectural leadership across the full product lifecycle, including design, integration, verification, qualification, production, and sustainment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 10+ years of job-related experience, OR Master’s degree with 8+ years of job-related experience. Expert-level experience in Electrical/Electronic Architecture. Expert-level experience with FPGAs. Extensive experience designing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex electronic systems. Experience across analog, digital, power-electronics, and mechanical interfaces, with deep expertise in one or more areas. Demonstrated ability to make, communicate, and defend system/hardware architecture decisions. Experience with embedded processors, FPGA/SoC-based systems, memory technologies, and high-speed digital interfaces. Experience with DC/DC and DC/AC power conversion, power distribution, and power-system design. Proficiency reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, interface documentation, and engineering analyses. Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, shielding, EMC, component derating, and electronic reliability. Experience with mixed-signal circuit design. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, logic analyzers, probes, and related laboratory equipment. Experience integrating and testing electronic assemblies within complex mechanical systems. Experience supporting products through development, qualification, production, sustainment, failure investigation, and corrective action. Strong technical judgment, analytical skills, and written/verbal communication. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance within a reasonable period after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance. Experience with serial interfaces operating at 5 Gbps or greater. High-frequency magnetics experience. Experience with Siemens EDA/Mentor Graphics, OrCAD, PSpice, LTspice, Mathcad, or equivalent tools. Experience with undersea, naval, defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability electronic systems. Familiarity with DoD systems engineering, cybersecurity, qualification, and configuration-management practices. Experience with technical baselines, requirements traceability, verification planning, production readiness, obsolescence management, technology insertion, and design certification. Earned Value Management and Control Account Management experience. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Experience with technology development programs, cost estimation, and schedule management.
