Balfour Beatty is seeking a Business Development Director to join our team in Austin, TX. The Business Development Director develops and nurtures the client base through the implementation of sales and business strategies while serving as a key leader within the office, ensuring a strong pipeline of work to support continued growth. Essential Functions Business Development Strategy – 10% Develops and executes strategies to secure new opportunities and prioritize leads. Client Relationship Management – 20% Builds and maintains relationships with clients and stakeholders. Strategic Planning – 10% Supports business planning and market analysis. Pipeline & Pursuit Leadership – 25% Leads pursuit strategy and proposal efforts. Monitor and track opportunities in CRM system. Presentation Leadership – 10% Prepares and coaches teams for presentations. Market Engagement / Customer Relations – 15% Represents company at industry events. Strengthens customer and community relationships. Leadership & Culture / Continuous Improvement – 10% Promotes culture and staff development. Captures feedback and tracks performance. Education / Certifications B.S. in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Minimum Requirements 4–6 years related experience or 10+ years professional experience Working knowledge of construction industry Strong stakeholder relationships Ability to make decisions under deadlines. Preferred Requirements Experience leading pursuits, understanding delivery methods, involvement in industry organizations, network of clients (Public and private within the greater Austin area) Soft Skills Strong communication, leadership, organization, motivation, and integrity.
