About the role
Job Title Responsible for answering telephones promptly and triage patient calls in a compassionate manner. Assists with front office duties as needed to accomplish daily tasks and keep patients cared for and wait times to a minimum. (Checks patients in / out, check and send faxes, scans into records, makes copies, etc.) Processes prior authorizations for patient procedures and / or medications within required time period. Calls / faxes appointment requests to specialists offices for patients that require a direct referral or assistance acquiring a specialist appointment. Submits routine faxed prescriptions to the patients' pharmacy as approved by the doctors. Processes incoming referrals. Annual completion of World Health Organization hand hygiene education and training and its relationship to infection control in addition to physical demonstration and understanding of compliance monitoring.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs clerical duties daily as required for the purpose of providing continued care to clinic patients and assistance to co-workers to increase productivity and promote "teamwork".
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Minimum Work Experience Two years of clerical/office experience preferred.
Required Skills:
Customer Service oriented. Knowledgeable of computer functions and able to operate Microsoft Office.
