About the role
A growing utility services organization is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead its Hydrovac division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing P&L performance, optimizing a fleet of heavy equipment, and leading field teams to support continued growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Hydrovac, utility services, or heavy equipment operations and a proven ability to scale operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all Hydrovac operations with full P&L accountability.Manage heavy equipment fleet performance, maintenance, and DOT/FMCSA compliance.Improve operational efficiency through KPIs, telematics, and data-driven decision-making.Develop and lead field operations, dispatch, and management teams.Partner with sales leadership to support business growth and maximize fleet utilization.Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and industry regulations.Qualifications8+ years of leadership experience in Hydrovac, utility services, heavy equipment, or industrial operations.Experience managing Class 7/8 fleets and multi-site operations.Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.Proven success driving operational growth, profitability, and team development.Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
