Bartender Job SummaryQuickly and efficiently provide food and beverage bar service to guests in a warm, professional, and accommodating manner. Quickly and efficiently prepare the highest quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to be served to guests directly or through the serving staff. Work professionally and effectively with servers and barbacks. Maintain a positive work environment and a positive working relationship with coworkers. Exceed our guests service standards and expectations, while adhering to direction from management.Bartender Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain a positive, high, well-balanced energy level throughout the entire shiftHave strong interpersonal communication skills in order to greet guests, answer guest questions and address guest concerns in a warm, professional, and accommodating mannerProvide multiple guests food and beverage bar service in a quick, professional, and efficient mannerKnowledge of and ability to accurately describe all beverage offerings and specialsTake accurate orders while maximizing sales using selling techniques and product knowledgeQuickly and efficiently prepare the highest quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to be served to guests directly or through the serving staff including using proper glassware and garnish while following Company drink recipesExhibit consistently dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy conductProvide exemplary guest service on a consistent basisCorrect and accurate execution of the POS systemPeel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinksMaintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesFollow all proper cash handling procedures and guidelinesPerform all service in compliance with all ABC laws and Company policies that relate to the service of alcoholic beverages and the prohibition against over-service, serving intoxicated patrons and serving minorsComplete any and all assigned cleaning duties, including stocking and organizationProperly set up and break down the bar before and after operating hoursSpecific Job Knowledge, Skill, and AbilityKnowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS systemAbility to read, write and speak the English language to interact with guests, the public, and coworkersProficient verbal communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations during busy periods in a loud, busy, and crowded environmentStrong interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfactionMust have extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standardsStrong knowledge of standard drink recipes, spirits, wine, and beerStrong understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishesStrong knowledge of bar equipmentKnowledge of proper food handling requirementsKnowledge of bar and kitchen itemsBasic mathematical skillsKnowledge of daily maintenance and cleaning of venueQualification StandardsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent preferredExperienceMinimum of two years experience in a fast-paced restaurant/barMust be at least 18 to meet minimum age requirement of the State of Tennessee to serve alcoholic beveragesLicenses or CertificationsServSafe CertificationABC Server Permit RequiredCPR certification and/or First Aid training preferredGroomingAll employees must wear the proper uniform and maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Companys grooming standards.
