About the role
- Negotiate rates and help choose carriers for liquid shipments.
- Review freight invoices to make sure costs are correct.
- Become proficient on all transportation desks to assist with coverage as needed
- Keep freight rate sheets updated for liquid fats, delactosed permeate, and waste hauling.
- Produce quarterly transportation reports of cost for all categories for team analysis
- Look for ways to improve freight billing and logistics.
- Work with procurement and plant teams to improve receiving and shipping.
- Provide weekend coverage as scheduled.
- Cover for the Transportation Specialists during travel or time off.
- Respond to plant and carrier needs after hours as needed.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Logistics and carrier management.
- Background in Microsoft office and freight scheduling &/or rating tools
- Experience in supporting production operations
- Excellent communication skills

- Analytical and data analysis
- Ability to work in fast paced, changing transportation environment
- Previous experience with transportation shipments preferred
- The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,0000.00 USD based on experience. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience.
