About the role
Mergers And Acquisitions Tax ConsultantOur Mergers and Acquisitions practice works with owners and investors to help structure transactions, ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in a wide range of business transactions, including buy-side and sell-side, restructuring, taxable and tax-free transactions. We provide our clients with tax due diligence, tax structuring, quantitative tax modeling services, transaction agreement review and consultation and tax technical support.Responsibilities:Assist Managers and Partners in engagement management of clients, conducting financial due diligence on middle-market companies in a variety of industriesWork directly with client leaders and alongside private equity firms, strategic clients and investment banks to perform buy-side and sell-side due diligence as well as other M&A tax activitiesConduct analytical reviews of data and prepare findingsCreate draft reports for management reviewResearch issues that arise during the course of engagementBuild relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activitiesProvide both leadership and supervision to StaffQualifications:Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related field requiredMaster's degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferredCPA or licensed attorney preferred. If not a CPA or licensed attorney, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA or attorney license in state of employment upon hireMinimum of 2 years of related experience required preferably with a public accounting firm or law firmPrevious experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferredMust have the ability to analyze complex business and transaction situationsMust have the ability to work on multiple engagements simultaneously and learn new business quicklyStrong project management and organizational skillsStrong Microsoft Excel skillsStrong presentation skills and marketing abilities are requiredExcellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skillsMust be willing and able to travel to client locations up to 50%The pay rate range for this job position is $84,000 to $164,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
