Role Description: The Strength Coach will provide in-person coaching and instruction to members during small group sessions and individual training, ensuring proper technique, safety, and appropriate program progression. Day-to-day responsibilities include demonstrating and cueing strength exercises, supervising training sessions, adjusting programs based on member needs and goals, and maintaining a clean, organized training environment. The coach will also conduct assessments, track member progress, and offer feedback that supports goal setting and performance improvement. This is a part-time, on-site role located in Durham, NC, requiring regular evening and/or weekend availability as scheduled.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess skills in Strength & Conditioning and Strength Training for diverse populations and experience levels. Candidates should possess Coaching and Personal Training skills for one-on-one and small group settings. Candidates should possess knowledge of Exercise Physiology to design safe, effective, and progressive training programs. Relevant certifications such as CSCS, NASM-CPT, ACE, or equivalent are highly beneficial. Strong communication skills, ability to give clear cues, and commitment to an inclusive, supportive training environment. Experience working in a gym or athletic performance setting and comfort managing multiple clients simultaneously. Ability to stand for extended periods, demonstrate lifts safely, and adhere to facility policies and safety standards.
