About the role

Provide strategic legal counsel on cybersecurity and incident response for one of the world's most complex technology companies. Amazon's Security Legal team is seeking a Corporate Counsel to advise on compliance with evolving global regulations, lead legal responses for security incidents, and pursue bad actors across our diverse businesses—from retail to devices to health.You will be part of a nimble legal team that covers security, fraud, and abuse matters while supporting our security team's operations. Key job responsibilities- Providing advice and support to security teams and others on compliance with all manner of security laws and regulations, including cybersecurity and data breach laws- Leading the legal response for security incidents, directing investigation, assessing legal obligations and advising on and drafting customer and regulator communications- Supporting our teams in drafting and presenting security-related documents to various audiences including executive leadership- Working collaboratively with teams including Compliance, Public Policy, Public Relations, Privacy and partner legal teams- Managing outside counsel relationships, directing budgeting and allocation of resources, staffing and strategic approaches to work- Providing legal advice and support on security aspects of due diligence and M&A agreementsA day in the lifeYour day will involve advising security teams on compliance matters and leading legal responses to security incidents.You'll work closely with cross-functional partners including Compliance, Public Policy, Public Relations, and Privacy teams. You'll manage outside counsel relationships and provide strategic legal guidance on security matters. Your work will span Amazon's diverse businesses, requiring you to quickly assess novel security issues and provide practical legal solutions. You'll draft communications for customers and regulators, support executive presentations, and advise on security aspects of business transactions.About the teamAmazon's security legal team is a nimble group that covers security, fraud and abuse matters across Amazon's global operations. The team supports Amazon's diverse businesses by providing legal guidance on novel security challenges. We work collaboratively to pursue bad actors behind security threats while ensuring compliance with evolving global cybersecurity laws. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
