About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This role will suit a technically minded construction professional who can coordinate multiple stakeholders, maintain strong attention to detail and contribute to projects being delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, procurement, scheduling and cost control; reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation; coordinating consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams; and monitoring progress against agreed programmes. You will help manage requests for information, technical submissions, design changes, variations and project correspondence, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly. The role will also involve attending site and coordination meetings, maintaining accurate project records, supporting quality assurance processes, and contributing to health, safety and environmental compliance. You may also assist with progress claims, forecasting, reporting and the preparation of project documentation for handover. Applicants should have relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, building or a related discipline, together with experience in a project engineering, construction engineering or similar role. Commercial construction experience is highly desirable, particularly on large-scale building, fit-out, refurbishment or infrastructure projects. You will need the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand construction methodologies and work confidently with project management and document control systems. Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and build effective working relationships. A proactive approach, sound commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will be valued.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
