What Your Job Will Be Like The Secure Embedded Systems department (5327) focuses on the development of secure and resilient computing solutions critical for national Organization 5327 is seeking a motivated Product Design Engineer to support state-of-the-art printed circuit board (PCB) layout for large multi-disciplinary programs critical to national security. The successful candidate will support a team in the design, development, test, and deployment of novel embedded computing solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in, and understanding of, printed circuit board layout, test, and debug. You will work alongside world-class experts and use your skills in the following areas: Layout of custom, state-of-the-art PCBs. PCB test and debug. Team with PCB designers, firmware, and software engineers to create embedded computing solutions. Qualifications We Require High School Diploma. Experience and understanding with printed circuit board layout. Must be a U.S. citizen. Successful drug screening. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance. Qualifications We Desire Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience. Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) Certification. Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced (CID+) Certification. Certified Printed Circuit Designer (CPCD) certification. Experience with Siemens layout tools (PADS and/or Expedition). Experience with high-layer-count stack-ups (18+ copper layers). Experience with PCB layout, testing, and debugging for applications involving state-of-the-art FPGAs, high-speed, and large memory. Experience routing signals with high-speed data-rates (5+ gb/s). Experience routing modern memory topologies (DDR4/5). Experience with fine design features (3 mil trace & space). Active DOE Q clearance. Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers. Location/Work Arrangement Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Schedule is full-time, Monday - Friday 40-hour week. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite.
