About the role

Secretary (Central Office) Provides administrative/clerical support for Central Office in the areas of answering phones, correspondence, public relations, information dissemination, and in support of the Communications & Outreach Department. Reports to: Communications & Outreach Director. Department: Communications & Outreach. Job type: Full time. Classification: Non‐Exempt. Calendar Type: 11‐month (Calendar 2).
Base Pay: $20.42 per hour.
Degree Stipend: Associate Degree or 60+ College Credit Hours: +$1/hour
Bachelor's Degree: +$2/hour
Master's Degree: +$3/hour
Experience Stipend: +$0.50/hour for each year of full-time work experience at a K–12 school other than Frontier Schools (up to 3 years maximum).

Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Bilingual Spanish – reading and writing. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a secretary is preferred.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Maintains confidentiality regarding staff and school-related issues. Communicates with other building administrators and staff per the Communications & Outreach Director's directive. Coordinates office operations. Resolves most questions and problems and refers the most complex issues to higher levels. Translates school-related documents as needed. Provides assistance to Central Office staff. Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive, and smoothly run office. Uses effective, positive interpersonal communication skills. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Skills And Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. Ability to organize and assist the Communications & Outreach Department with district-wide and campus events. Ability to use a computer, including software and databases used by the district, as well as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone. Ability to analyze data. Ability to use effective interview techniques, public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements: Light work: may require occasional light lifting. Night and weekend activities may occasionally be required. Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location. Moderate travel is required.
