About the role
- Essential Job Functions & Tasks
- Provide day-to-day support for network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) in a regulated environment
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, outages, and service degradation
- Execute operational tasks and configuration changes in accordance with change management and NERC CIP requirements Perform lifecycle refresh activities including hardware/software upgrades and replacements
- Identify, track, and remediate network vulnerabilities in alignment with NERC CIP cybersecurity standards
- Support firewall configuration and maintenance (Cisco ASA, FTD, Fortigate)
- Ensure compliance with NERC CIP controls including access management, configuration management, patching, and audit readiness
- Maintain documentation to support regulatory audits, evidence requests, and compliance reporting
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
- Required Experience & Skills5–7+ years of network operations or engineering experience in a large enterprise or regulated environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Experience supporting incidents, lifecycle upgrades, and vulnerability remediation programs
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security best practices
- Experience with network monitoring and logging tools (SolarWinds, Splunk)
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
- Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in NERC CIP, Nuclear, or other highly regulated environments
- Experience with IPAM/DDI solutions
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification
