This role will be responsible for establishing and enforcing language standards, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our localization processes.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of localization strategies and governance, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Governance: Own internal guidance on language sets, service levels, and translation qualityPeriodically evaluate and update priority languages and language tiering models as Equinix expands into new marketsReinforce and evangelize localization and internationalization best practices across the organizationServe as an escalation point for functional and regional teams to resolve translation-related issuesCollaborate with the business to identify content that must be translated across the end-to-end customer and employee experience by language tierStandards: Establish and disseminate style guidelines for translation tone and formality to vendors and internal reviewersAddress concerns raised by customers, regional teams, or translation reviewers regarding translation qualityOwn and distribute the decision framework to determine mandatory languages and service level for all content across the companyVendor Relationships and ToolingManage approved translation and localization vendors and tools for enterprise-wide useDrive implementation and ongoing support with vendors, setup, enhancements to self-service capabilities, and integration pointsAct as the business owner for translation systems, functionality, and interfacesTrack enterprise-wide spending and seek cost efficiencies through vendor and process strategiesProcesses: Establish a Global Content Delivery pipeline for translated content company-wideCollaborate with vendors and key stakeholders to utilize and continuously improve a self-service translation capabilityCreate and deliver training for cross-functional stakeholders on the translation strategy, standards, vendors, tooling, and processesUnderstand cross-functional and regional needs, driving continuous improvement in localization and translation approachesQualifications10+ years of relevant experienceProven experience in localization, translation management, or a related fieldStrong understanding of language tiering models and translation quality standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teamsHigh emotional intelligence and ability to influenceExperience managing vendor relationships and driving process improvementsFamiliarity with translation tools and technologiesThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 154,000 - 232,000 CAD / AnnualUnited States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 177,000 - 265,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 213,000 - 319,000 USD / AnnualOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
