About the role

Job Overview: Join a highly respected CPA firm that truly offers the best of both worlds: the close‑knit culture of a local practice backed by the resources and stability of a national platform. This is a succession role with a clear path to partner in 1–2 years, stepping into strong, long‑standing client relationships. The firm is growth‑focused, PE‑free, and hiring while others pull back. If you’re a Tax Director or a strong Senior Manager ready to lead, this is the kind of opportunity that can define your next chapter. Pay Range Base: $135,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, sharing specialized knowledge and insights within the business unit. Make recommendations to improve internal processes and department procedures. Identify and communicate business opportunities for both clients and the firm. Monitor industry trends, identify client issues, and proactively present solution options to management and the team. Oversee and review engagement deliverables to ensure quality control standards are consistently met. Partner with firm leadership on business development, including client meetings, presentations, and proposal preparation. Demonstrate a strong understanding of Qualified Plan needs and related client requirements. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff through regular performance feedback, training, and evaluations. Foster a team‑oriented culture, support management decisions, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field. At least 5 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills. Active CPA license (or equivalent certification) required and must be maintained. Proven ability to manage deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels. Proficiency in relevant tax and accounting technology tools. Ability and willingness to travel based on business needs.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
