About the role
Internships Available Internships are available in Wellington, Manhattan, and Lindsborg areas. As a grain operations intern, you will be located at one of our larger locations and gain experience in all aspects of the cooperative's role in grain production. You will learn the entire agronomy and grain handling chain from the seed being planted in the field to the grain moving to one of our many end users. You will have the opportunity to interact with and assist our farmer/owners who we help deliver a safe food supply to the world. Excellent communication, willingness to take initiative, and desire to be a part of a team are requirements for this role. To be successful in this role, applicants should be motivated, eager to learn and try new things, and enjoy working at a fast-paced team environment. Summer projects frequently focus on improving customer service, safety, and finding innovative ways to be efficient. You will be given the opportunity to grow yourself through professional and technical skill development activities. We want to add as much value to you as you add to MKC during your internship!
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
