Location:
Medley, FL Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Corporate Mining Engineer to join our team in Medley, FL. This position is responsible for supporting mining operations, resource development, and capital projects across Titan America's cement and aggregate businesses. The role provides technical expertise in mine planning, geological modeling, reserve estimation, project development, and operational improvement to promote safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations. Working closely with operations, engineering, environmental, and business teams, the Corporate Mining Engineer helps drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with feasibility studies and technical evaluations of potential mining sites to support growth initiatives across Titan's cement and aggregate businesses. Manage and support capital projects related to new quarry development, mine expansions, and aggregate processing facilities from concept through implementation. Provide technical input for project budgets, schedules, site investigations, drilling programs, and reserve evaluations to support project development and long-term planning. Support mobile equipment fleet planning and optimization to improve productivity, operating costs, and operational performance. Support R&D, PMO, and business development teams in the management and execution of decarbonization and sustainability initiatives, including grant-funded projects. Develop and maintain mid- and long-range mine plans for cement and aggregate operations. Support operations teams with short-term mine planning, production scheduling, and operational optimization activities. Coordinate and manage exploration and core drilling programs, including field activities, geological data analysis, and geological model updates. Conduct periodic reviews of aggregate and cement quarry operations, evaluating mine development activities and recommending improvements to optimize mine plans, resource utilization, and operational performance. Oversee annual reclamation planning and support environmental stewardship initiatives across mining operations. Monitor regulatory and legislative developments affecting mining operations and assist sites in maintaining compliance. Conduct drone surveys and develop maps, volumetric inventories, and analytical reports to support operations, planning, and project development. Develop and publish key performance indicator (KPI) reports for cement and aggregate operations to support operational excellence, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline required Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.5+ years experience as a Mining Engineer in the industrial minerals sector, with aggregates or cement experience preferred. Experience supporting mining capital projects through scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, design, permitting, or construction phases. Proficiency with mine planning and geological modeling software (e.g., Vulcan, Carlson, AutoCAD, or similar) for developing 3D mine plans, production schedules, reserve estimates, and geological models. Knowledge of surface mining methods, including dragline operations, drilling and blasting, mobile equipment operations, haulage systems, and mine economics. Experience with aggregate processing and plant modeling software (e.g., Agg Flow or similar) is considered a plus. Understanding of mining regulations, permitting, reclamation, and environmental compliance requirements. Experience with GPS surveying equipment and GIS systems. FAA Part 107 Drone License, or ability to obtain, preferred. Proficiency in MS Office programs required (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with operations, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
