Contact: Overview – Data Science Manager Forsyth Barnes is partnering with a large US retailer that is looking to hire a Data Science Manager to join its growing Data & Analytics organization. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys combining people leadership, hands-on technical understanding and commercial problem solving. You’ll lead a team of Data Scientists working across high-impact initiatives that influence customer experience, commercial performance and wider business decision-making. The role will involve setting direction for the team, improving how Data Science is delivered across the organization and ensuring projects move from initial idea through to production and measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Science Manager: Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Data Scientists
  • Owning the delivery of machine learning, predictive modelling and advanced analytics projects
  • Partnering closely with Product, Technology and senior business stakeholders
  • Translating complex technical outputs into clear commercial recommendations
  • Helping define priorities, roadmap and best practices across the Data Science function
  • Improving how Data Science is embedded into decision-making across the business
  • Driving a high-performance, commercially focused culture within the team
Key Requirements:
  • Data Science Manager: Strong experience across Data Science, Machine Learning and advanced analytics
  • Previous experience managing or leading Data Scientists
  • Strong Python and SQL capability
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models in a production environment
  • Good understanding of modern Data Science and ML tooling
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Retail, eCommerce, consumer or similarly complex B2C experience would be highly beneficial
