Description:
Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking an ESR Melter candidate for our Erie, PA re-melting plant. This is an hourly position and applicants must be willing to work all shifts and weekends, as required. Operate and maintain ESR equipment to produce high-quality steel ingots.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring melting process and adjusting parameters as needed
- Preparing electrodes and slag for remelting
- Ensuring cleanliness and chemical composition of steel
- Troubleshooting issues with equipment or process
- Maintaining accurate production records
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of ESR equipment
- Welding and Equipment Experience:
- Flux core MIG welding experience ( preferred)
- Arc-Air experience ( preferred)
- Overhead crane and forklift operation experience (preferred)
Key Skills:
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues
- Attention to detail and quality control
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment
