Role Description:
This full-time APRN, Certified Nurse Midwife role is an on-site position located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The clinician will provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including health assessments, patient education, and ongoing management of low-risk pregnancies in collaboration with physicians and other team members. Daily responsibilities include conducting office visits, performing routine gynecologic exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The role also involves offering evidence-based counseling on contraception, family planning, lactation, and wellness, while participating in shared decision-making with patients. The APRN will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support patient safety protocols, and maintain effective communication with the care team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
Active APRN license in the state of Florida and current national certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM).Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Midwifery program and completion of required clinical training. Demonstrated experience providing prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and routine gynecologic care in an outpatient and/or hospital setting. Strong skills in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and use of evidence-based guidelines for obstetric and gynecologic care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory care, including sensitivity to diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate, timely clinical documentation. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment. Current BLS and NRP certifications; additional obstetric-related certifications are a plus. Prior midwifery experience in an OBGYN or birth setting is preferred, but strong new graduates will be considered.
