Job Title: Quality Technician
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Supervisor / Quality Manager
Location: Manufacturing Plant
Position Summary: The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that copper cable products meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, and quality standards. This position performs inspections, testing, data collection, and quality analyses throughout the manufacturing process to maintain product integrity and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections. Verify cable dimensions, conductor diameter, insulation thickness, and other product characteristics. Conduct electrical, mechanical, and visual quality tests according to established procedures. Utilize measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and testing instruments. Record inspection and test results accurately in quality documentation and databases. Identify, document, and report non-conforming products. Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Monitor compliance with customer specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. Assist with internal and external quality audits. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues. Maintain calibration records and inspection equipment as required. Participate in continuous improvement and quality enhancement projects. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications: Education High School Diploma or Technical Degree required. Associate Degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Electronics, or related field preferred. Experience 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment preferred. Experience in wire, cable, automotive, or industrial manufacturing is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of quality inspection methods and testing procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and control plans. Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Basic statistical analysis and data interpretation skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and production equipment. Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts as needed.
Preferred Certifications: Certified Quality Technician (CQT) – ASQSix Sigma Yellow Belt or higher Internal Auditor Certification
