About the role
Are you an experienced Senior Electrical BIM Engineer looking to further your career with one of New York’s leading electrical contractors? Following an exciting phase of growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical BIM Engineer to join one of New York’s leading electrical contractors. Located in New York City, this position will lead the engineering, design and technical coordination of major electrical construction projects. You will take responsibility for electrical models and drawings while collaborating with project teams, field personnel, designers and clients throughout all phases of delivery.
Key requirements:
A minimum of five years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer, BIM Engineer or Electrical Designer within the construction sector. Advanced proficiency in CAD and Revit, with proven experience producing and managing detailed electrical models and drawings. Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, communications, fire alarm systems and equipment layouts. A thorough understanding of local authority requirements and applicable electrical codes and standards. Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, Bluebeam, BIM 360/ACC and Procore. Proven experience coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors and field teams. Confidence leading clash-detection sessions, design meetings and model reviews. Strong leadership and project management capabilities. The ability to mentor junior engineers and BIM designers while managing multiple projects and deadlines. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, alongside previous experience working with an electrical contractor specializing in large-scale construction projects.
