We collaborate with leading technology providers to deliver integrated solutions addressing complex enterprise security and customer-engagement needs.Role OverviewJourney.AI is seeking a Sales Engineer – Strategic Solutions to lead the technical aspects of enterprise sales engagements from initial discovery through close and initial implementation.This customer-facing role will work closely with Journey’s sales team, strategic partners, prospective customers, and internal technical resources to understand customer requirements, design appropriate solutions, and establish the technical and operational foundation for successful deployment.The Sales Engineer will lead technical discovery, develop solution architectures, deliver product demonstrations, respond to technical and security requirements, and guide customers through evaluations, proofs of concept, and implementation planning. Following contract execution, this individual will remain engaged through initial implementation to ensure that the approved solution is accurately translated into a workable deployment plan and successfully transitioned to Journey’s implementation and customer-success teams.The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgment with the communication and commercial awareness needed to guide complex enterprise opportunities. This individual must be comfortable engaging business executives, customer technology teams, security and compliance stakeholders, strategic partners, and implementation resources throughout the customer journey.Key Responsibilities•    Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer objectives, workflows, systems, security requirements, integration needs, and success criteria.•    Translate customer requirements into solution designs incorporating Journey’s platform, partner technologies, and relevant third-party systems.•    Develop clear technical architectures, integration approaches, workflow designs, and implementation recommendations.•    Deliver product demonstrations tailored to each customer’s business needs, technical environment, and intended use cases.•    Explain complex technical, security, identity, payment, privacy, and artificial intelligence concepts in clear business terms.•    Partner with sales representatives to develop account strategies, qualify opportunities, address technical concerns, and advance deals through close.•    Work with strategic partner sales and technical teams to develop and present coordinated solutions to mutual customers.•    Serve as the primary technical contact during the sales process and build credibility with customer executives, architects, developers, security teams, compliance personnel, and operational stakeholders.•    Identify technical, security, integration, and implementation risks early in the sales process and develop practical plans to address them.•    Lead technical evaluations, workshops, pilots, and proofs of concept, including defining scope, responsibilities, timelines, success criteria, and final results.•    Prepare and contribute to proposals, statements of work, requests for proposals, security questionnaires, technical documentation, and customer presentations.•    Validate that proposed solutions can be delivered within Journey’s product capabilities, security standards, implementation resources, and commercial commitments.•    Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success to resolve technical questions and support customer decision-making.•    Support commercial discussions by clarifying solution scope, implementation assumptions, dependencies, and technical requirements.•    Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, solution decisions, technical risks, commitments, and next steps.•    Develop preliminary implementation plans during the sales process, including integrations, data requirements, configuration needs, responsibilities, dependencies, and target timelines.•    Remain engaged following contract execution to conduct internal and customer-facing handoffs and preserve continuity between the proposed and delivered solution.•    Support the customer and Journey’s implementation team through initial configuration, integration, testing, and deployment planning.•    Confirm that technical requirements, success criteria, responsibilities, and outstanding risks are understood before transitioning ongoing ownership to implementation or customer success.•    Create reusable demonstration environments, solution templates, technical presentations, architecture diagrams, and other sales-enablement materials.•    Maintain a detailed understanding of Journey’s products, APIs, integrations, security architecture, partner solutions, product roadmap, and competitive landscape.•    Provide structured customer and market feedback to Journey’s Product and Engineering teams.Required Qualifications•    Five or more years of experience in sales engineering, solutions consulting, solutions architecture, technical consulting, implementation engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.•    Demonstrated experience supporting complex enterprise technology opportunities from discovery through technical validation and close.•    Experience designing and explaining integrated solutions involving APIs, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, data flows, or third-party technologies.•    Experience leading customer discovery sessions, technical workshops, product demonstrations, and solution-design discussions.•    Ability to gather business and technical requirements and translate them into clear, achievable solution designs.•    Strong understanding of cloud-based software, APIs, authentication, integration patterns, networking fundamentals, data security, and enterprise architecture.•    Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, identify risks, define dependencies, and set realistic implementation expectations.•    Experience coordinating technical activities across sales, product, engineering, security, implementation, and customer teams.•    Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to adapt technical information for executive, business, operational, and engineering audiences.•    Sound commercial judgment and an understanding of how technical decisions affect sales progression, solution scope, implementation effort, and customer outcomes.•    Ability to manage multiple customer opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.•    Willingness to travel as needed for customer meetings, partner engagements, and industry events.Preferred Qualifications•    Experience with SaaS, CCaaS, contact center, customer experience, identity, cybersecurity, payments, privacy, or artificial intelligence technologies.•    Experience working with Zoom, AWS, Cisco, NICE, Avaya, or comparable enterprise technology platforms.•    Familiarity with identity verification, authentication, tokenization, payment security, PCI DSS, data privacy, or zero-knowledge security models.•    Experience designing or supporting API-based integrations and cloud deployments.•    Experience with enterprise security reviews, technical due diligence, requests for proposals, and compliance questionnaires.•    Experience supporting pilots, proofs of concept, customer onboarding, or initial implementations.•    Ability to create clear architecture diagrams, workflow documentation, implementation plans, and technical presentations.•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, plus eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation and equity.
