Start Date: ASAPOverview Our client seeks an experience Senior Tax Preparer to join their team, with strong potential for extension or full-time conversion. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced public accounting environment and enjoys working directly with clients.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), S-corporations (1120S), C-corporations (1120), and trusts/estates (1041)Conduct client interviews and gather necessary documentation to complete tax filings Identify and communicate potential tax savings opportunities and planning strategies Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations Handle correspondence with IRS and state tax authorities as needed Mentor and support junior preparers or interns during tax season Maintain accurate and organized client records in the firm's tax software Stay current with tax law changes and industry trends
Qualifications: 5+ years of recent experience in tax preparation within a CPA firm or public accounting environment Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Lacerte, Pro Series, Ultra Tax, Drake, or similar)Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes Experience with Quick Books, Xero or other accounting platforms preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlinesCPA, EA, or actively pursuing preferred but not required City Staffing is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of our business.
