OPEN | POSITION: Program Coordinator | SITE: District Police Department | HOURS: 8 hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm) | DAYS: 261 | SALARY: 23M ($95,982.75 - $116,912.34/mo) Deadline to apply is Friday, October 16, 2026, @ 4:00 p.m. The Program Coordinator plays a vital role within the Victor Valley Union High School District Police Department. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the RISE Court program, Police Explorer Program, Police Cadet Program, and serving as a liaison with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director to support the Public Safety CTE Pathway. The coordinator develops, implements, and manages community outreach efforts, educational programs, and public safety initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: Oversee the daily operations of the RISE Court Program, Police Explorer Program, Police Cadet Program, and any other program managed by the Police Department, ensuring that all processes align with the program’s objectives and the mission of the Victor Valley Union High School District Police Department. Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth and sustainability of the RISE Court Program, Police Explorer Program, Police Cadet Program, and any other programs managed by the Police Department. Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including local businesses, organizations, schools, and service providers, while coordinating their involvement in court processes to ensure active participation in mentoring, community service supervision, and educational initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison between the police department, school district, and community partners, fostering collaboration and communication. Work closely with students and their families to develop individualized intervention plans focusing on education, community service, and personal growth. Ensure students receive the necessary support services, including counseling, mentorship, and educational workshops. Collaborate with the Police Department’s School Police Specialist when RISE Court cases must be packaged and sent to appropriate jurisdictions for prosecution. Establish and manage partnerships with local businesses and organizations to provide meaningful community service opportunities for students, while advocating for each program’s mission and objectives to promote awareness and support within the community. Supervise the execution of community service activities, ensuring they align with each program’s goals and provide positive student outcomes. Oversee the referral and assessment process for students entering the RISE Court, track and report on their progress in completing community service requirements, and maintain accurate records of all court proceedings, student progress, and community service activities. Develop and implement restorative justice practices within the court, focusing on accountability, education, and rehabilitation. Coordinate educational workshops and programs that address leadership development, financial literacy, job readiness, and other life skills. Assist in organizing field trips, ride-alongs and educational sessions. Manage the program’s budget, ensuring financial accountability and the efficient use of resources. Represent all Police Department programs at community events, meetings, and public forums. Work with the police department’s communications team to develop outreach materials and campaigns that highlight program success and impact.
Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, public administration, education, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, juvenile justice, or community outreach. Experience working with law enforcement or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of restorative justice principles and practices. Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement, educators, community organizations, and families. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software. Work independently with little direction. Plan and organize work. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records and reports related to the Department.
