Role Description:
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Physical Therapist Assistant located in Somerset, NJ. The Physical Therapist Assistant will support licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with therapeutic exercises and interventions, preparing treatment areas and equipment, monitoring patient responses, documenting treatments, and reinforcing home exercise programs and patient education. The role also involves collaborating with the care team to ensure continuity of care, promoting safety and comfort, and contributing to a positive, respectful, and inclusive clinical environment for patients and colleagues. Flexibility in working with patients of varying ages and functional levels is essential.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation to effectively support treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
Strong Patient Care and Quality Patient Care abilities, with a focus on safety, empathy, and clear communication.
Experience or foundational knowledge in Orthopedics for managing musculoskeletal conditions and post-surgical recovery.
Active state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New Jersey, or eligibility to obtain it prior to start date.
Previous clinical experience in outpatient, rehabilitation, or similar settings is preferred.
Ability to follow therapist-directed treatment plans, maintain accurate documentation, and manage time effectively in a busy clinical environment.
Comfort working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory care.
Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset to work within a multidisciplinary team.
