About the role
Assisting with data collection for a research project on native seed-dispersing animals, the full-time Research Technician will capture and band wild jays, conduct behavioral observations, and support seed provisioning experiments in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities:
Capture, band, and measure wild California Scrub-jays using baited drop traps
Conduct resighting and behavioral observations of color-banded birds
Assist in setting up and collecting data for seed provisioning experimentsRequired qualificationsBachelor's Degree in a biological sciences field or equivalent experience
4 years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or GED, or 2 years with an Associate's Degree
3 months of experience collecting ornithological field data
Valid U.S. driver's license
Ability to work independently and hike in rugged terrain
