About Toga Toga is a fully managed upcycling service that transforms unwanted garments into pieces you'll actually wear again. Customers upload a photo of the garment and what they're picturing (e.g., inspo pictures, drawings); our platform generates a few design directions, and a tailor builds the one they choose.
Why Work With Us: This is a very hands-on role where you'll work directly with the founder team and get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to build a fashion tech startup from the ground up. We're looking for someone who is highly organized, hard working, and genuinely passionate about sustainability and fashion design.
Responsibilities: ·      Develop patterns and blocks for garments, bags, and accessories·      Assist with customer measurements and fittings, and determine the exact measurements each generated design should be built to·      Pick up and deliver customer orders when the founders aren't available·      Help coordinate the timely delivery of materials and samples from suppliers·      Assist in the day-to-day operations of the founder team·      Fix garments that are missing trims or sequins; perform quality control·      Assist in sample production and styling·      Work closely with the founder team and our network of tailors to develop patterns and blocks·      Contribute to garment construction·      Provide technical design support: support fittings and help capture technical corrections·      Maintain final production pattern files and the showroom sample library·      Track samples and coordinate with tailors (domestic and international)·      Assist in creating tech packs and detailed flat sketches·      Manage samples: organize and track incoming prototypes·      Be on your feet during shoots and booth events Qualifications·      Experience with pattern making, including bags·      Strong communication skills, both oral and written·      Able to work independently and meet deadlines·      Strong interest in sustainability/upcycling·      Extremely organized, dependable, and proactive·      Takes initiative; doesn't need to be told twice·      Responsible, positive, can-do attitude·      Knowledge of speccing and measuring garments·      Hands-on sewing skills and comfort with garment construction Details·      15 - 20 hours/week·      Paid: $20/hour·      Hybrid, NYC·      [Early October start, 3 months with option to extend.]To Apply Email your resume to hello@toga.studio with the subject line "Toga - Fashion Design Assistant"In your email, please:·      Tell us why you want to work for Toga·      Share your portfolio
