POWDER COATING SPECIALIST / PAINTERWolf Powder Coating Competitive Pay — Based on Experience Wolf Powder Coating is looking for an experienced Powder Coating Specialist / Painter to join our production team. This is a hands-on position responsible for preparing, coating, inspecting, and handling a wide variety of metal parts and fabricated products. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of proper surface preparation and powder application, and can consistently produce a high-quality finish while working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare metal parts and fabricated products for powder coating Perform proper cleaning, pretreatment, masking, plugging, and preparation Operate powder coating equipment and application systems Apply powder coatings according to customer specifications and company standards Maintain consistent film thickness, coverage, color, texture, and finish Properly hang and position parts for efficient and consistent coating Operate and monitor curing ovens according to required specifications Inspect finished products for defects, coverage, color, and overall quality Identify and troubleshoot coating defects such as: Runs and sags Thin coverage Poor adhesion Contamination Orange peel Improper cure Color or texture inconsistencies Perform rework when necessary while maintaining production schedules Maintain clean and organized work areas and coating equipment Assist with powder changes, booth cleaning, and equipment maintenance Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements Work efficiently with the production team to meet daily schedules and deadlines Communicate quality issues or production concerns to the Shop Manager Handle finished parts carefully to prevent damage during production and packagingQUALIFICATIONS2+ years of powder coating experience preferred Experience in industrial painting or automotive/commercial finishing will also be considered Strong understanding of powder coating application and surface preparation Knowledge of curing requirements and powder coating defects Ability to read and follow work orders, specifications, and production instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work efficiently in a production environment Ability to lift, move, and handle metal parts safely Reliable, punctual, and dependable Ability to work as part of a team Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred Forklift experience is a plus Basic computer skills are a plusWHAT WE OFFERCompetitive pay based on experience Full-time, stable employment Growing powder coating and fabrication company Opportunity for advancement Hands-on training and development Opportunity to grow into a Lead Painter or Shop Supervisor position Team-oriented work environmentTHE IDEAL CANDIDATEWe are looking for someone who understands that quality matters.
