About the role
Job Title: Director, Demand Planning Reports to the Chief Financial Officer Full time position in Dumbo, NY (hybrid)
Salary:
$125K-$155KABOUT VIOLETTE_FRVIOLETTE_FR is a multi-category beauty maison founded by acclaimed makeup artist Violette Serrat, offering vegan, clean, and cruelty-free skincare, makeup, and hair essentials, available direct-to-consumer and through retail partners including Sephora, Mecca, Oh My Cream, Liberty, Le Bon Marché, and other European and international retail partners.
THE ROLE:
We're looking for a Director of Demand Planning to own and build out our forecasting and inventory function. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role — as our first dedicated demand planning hire, you'll inherit some foundations (organized historical data, an informal forecast spreadsheet, and a loose S&OP cadence) with freedom to formalize or rebuild them. Reporting to our CFO, you'll own the OTB and forecast side of our retail partner relationships, and you'll work closely with our Director of Operations & Supply Chain.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Own end-to-end demand planning strategy across DTC and wholesale channels• Model the cash-flow and working-capital implications of inventory buys, giving the CFO clear investment and risk trade-offs before purchase decisions are made• Formalize our S&OP process into a structured practice linking demand, supply, and finance• Develop and maintain a rolling 18–36 month SKU-level forecast across all channels• Own the OTB and forecast side of our retail partner relationships (Sephora, Mecca, Oh My Cream, Liberty, Le Bon Marché, and other European and international retail partners), formalizing account-level forecasts and OTB alignment• Reconcile sell-in/sell-out data across retail partners, currencies, and lead times. Analyze and provide recommendations.• Monitor inventory health and recommend RTV and markdown strategies• Recommend purchase order quantities and timing, partnering with our Director of Operations & Supply Chain on manufacturing lead times and logistics execution• Build and maintain forecasting/reporting dashboards with supported tools, and manage data flow through ERP (Netsuite) and other forecasting tools.• Present forecast performance and strategic recommendations directly to the CFO and executive leadershipWHAT YOU'LL BRING• 7+ years in demand planning, supply chain planning, or inventory management• Experience at an early-stage or emerging beauty/CPG brand, formalizing and scaling informal, ad hoc processes• Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels — this is a hands-on role with no support staff• Experience partnering with a Supply Chain/Operations function — translating manufacturing and logistics realities into forecast and purchasing recommendations• Working knowledge of core supply-planning concepts (safety stock, replenishment cadence, MRP inputs, supplier lead-time variability) sufficient to translate into forecast and purchasing recommendations• Direct retailer-facing experience (OTB, account forecasting, sell-in/sell-out reconciliation); international/multi-region retail experience preferred• Experience with Sephora's US and EU planning systems a strong plus• Hands-on experience with Net Suite, Drivepoint, and/or Tableau a strong plus; advanced Excel required• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to improve forecasting speed and efficiency• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field• Multi-category product experience (skincare, makeup, and/or hair) a plus
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
